130 Artisans Display Craft In MSME Seva Parv-2025 Virasat In Varanasi

(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Sep 29 (KNN) Union Minister of MSME, Jitan Ram Manjhi, highlighted that micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are vital drivers of employment and economic growth in India.

Speaking at MSME Seva Parv-2025: Virasat se Vikas in Varanasi, he stressed the need to strengthen the MSME sector, not only to create jobs but also to empower communities and preserve traditional heritage.

The three-day event, being held till September 30, aims to connect citizens, institutions, and artisans under the theme of service, development, and cultural pride.

During the inauguration, Manjhi opened an exhibition with around 130 stalls, featuring locally crafted artisan products and traditional goods.

Minister of State for MSME, Shobha Karandlaje, also addressed the gathering, calling MSMEs the backbone of India's economy. She pointed out their role in boosting exports, contributing to GDP, and fostering entrepreneurship.

She further emphasised the significance of government initiatives such as Udyam Registration, PMEGP (Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme), CGTMSE, and the National SC/ST Hub, which provide entrepreneurs with training, toolkits, and easier access to financial support through bank loans.

The event saw participation from more than 1,500 beneficiaries of MSME schemes. Key highlights included the signing of MoUs between Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) to expand marketing reach, distribution of loan certificates under PMEGP, provision of margin-money subsidies, and disbursal of toolkits to artisans.

Additionally, a Swachhata Karyakram (cleanliness drive) was organised at Namo Ghat, reflecting the government's commitment to civic responsibility alongside economic and cultural empowerment.
