Turkey’s benchmark stock index opens
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s main stock exchange began the week in negative territory on Monday, with the BIST 100 index opening at 11,112.30 points, down 0.35% or 38.89 points from the previous session.
On Friday, the index had already slipped 1.99%, closing at 11,151.20 points with a trading volume totaling 143 billion liras (around $3.45 billion).
By 10:00 a.m. local time (0700 GMT), currency markets showed the lira trading at 41.5760 against the US dollar, 47.7610 versus the euro, and 55.9140 against the British pound.
Meanwhile, gold stood at $3,817.30 per ounce, while Brent crude oil was priced at $68.80 per barrel.
