Trump Applauds Comey Indictment as Victory for Justice
(MENAFN) On Thursday, US President Donald Trump welcomed the legal charges brought against former FBI Director James Comey, describing the development as evidence that “justice in America” is finally prevailing.
Comey, who headed the FBI from 2013 until he was dismissed by Trump in 2017, now faces accusations of lying and impeding a congressional investigation.
The charges relate to his 2020 testimony concerning Crossfire Hurricane, the investigation that launched the extended Russia collusion narrative.
In a statement shared on Truth Social, Trump expressed strong criticism of Comey, declaring, “JUSTICE IN AMERICA! One of the worst human beings this Country has ever been exposed to is James Comey, the former Corrupt Head of the FBI.”
Trump added that Comey had caused great harm to the United States for many years and is finally beginning to face the consequences of his alleged offenses against the country.
Earlier this year, the Trump administration initiated an investigation into the beginnings of what has been labeled the Russiagate deception.
According to documents released by US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, there were claims of a deliberate scheme involving high-ranking officials from the Obama era and groups tied to billionaire George Soros.
These documents suggest that the goal was to falsely implicate Trump in a conspiracy with Russia.
Despite reportedly having access to reliable intelligence indicating such a plan, the FBI continued to pursue Crossfire Hurricane, raising further questions about the agency’s actions during that period.
