Türkiye’s Economic Confidence Posts Increase in September

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s economic confidence showed slight improvement in September, rising by 0.1 percentage points to a reading of 98, as per official data published on Monday by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).

Despite this overall gain, the report highlighted mixed results across various sectors. While three sub-indexes showed positive growth, two posted declines.

The construction sector saw the largest increase, with its confidence index rising by 3.6%. The retail trade confidence index followed with a modest 0.4% increase, while the real sector, representing the manufacturing industry, saw a slight uptick of 0.2%.

Conversely, two sectors experienced setbacks. The consumer confidence index dipped by 0.4%, and the services sector’s confidence dropped by 0.1%.

The economic confidence index, which gauges public sentiment regarding the broader economic landscape, fluctuates between 0 and 200. A score above 100 signals optimism, while values below 100 reflect a more cautious or pessimistic outlook.
