Media: Attack On Michigan Mormon Church Leaves 4 Dead, Eight Injured


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW YORK, Sept 29 (KUNA) -- An attack on a Mormon Church in the town of Grand Blanc, Michigan, left four dead and eight injured, including children, a media source reported on Sunday evening.
According to CNN, local law enforcement said that a gunman, a 40-year-old suspect, used his vehicle to ram the church building, then proceeded to shoot at churchgoers before lighting the structure on fire.
Police officers exchanged fire with the assailant, killing him at the scene.
The suspect was identified as Thomas Sanford, an Army veteran from Brighton, Michigan, revealed the authorities, adding that so far, it seems that the incident only involved Sanford.
The motive of the whole incident remains unknown, while federal officials deemed it as a "targeted violence", CNN added. (end)
