RAMALLAH, Sept 28 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti based NAMAA Charity Society announced Sunday the implementation of a project to distribute food baskets to displaced persons in northern Gaza, in cooperation with its partners approved by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A statement by NAMAA said the project comes in response to urgent humanitarian needs.
Food baskets were provided to 155 families (approximately 930 individuals) of affected workers and displaced families in areas suffering from difficult living conditions due to ongoing displacement and economic pressures.
The society affirmed its commitment to ensuring that support reaches those who deserve it efficiently and transparently.
For his part, the head of the development and relief sector at the society, Khaled Al-Shaamri, said in a statement to KUNA that they have "ensured that the distribution is organized to reach eligible families directly, taking into account the specific needs of each family."
Al-Shaamri added, "this initiative represents an extension of Namaa Charity's humanitarian approach, which combines strategic planning with effective field implementation."
Al-Shaamri noted, "the success of this initiative would not have been possible without the directives of Kuwait wise leadership, which has made Kuwait a model for humanitarian work at the regional and international levels." (end)
