PAS Approves 2026-27 General Budget

KUWAIT, Sept 28 (KUNA) -- The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Sport (PAS) held a meeting Sunday, chaired by Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi.
The meeting witnessed the approval of the Authority's general budget for the fiscal year 2026-2027.
In a statement, the authority said under the directives of Minister Al-Mutairi, the budget will prioritize aspects that will develop sports in the country and advance the sports system to serve Kuwaiti youth athletes and implement its strategy in this regard.
The meeting focused on developing Kuwaiti youth athletes in various sports, developing sports facilities, supporting the country's hosting of major tournaments, and nurturing outstanding players to prepare them for the most important upcoming sporting events.
The meeting called on specialized sports federations and clubs to exert their utmost efforts in this regard.
The statement added that Minister Al-Mutairi stressed the need for the executive body to follow up on all matters that would support young athletes and empower them in sports, and to focus on instilling the sportsmanship among young athletes and promoting the noble values of sports. (end)
