Who Is Rajeev Verma? 1992-Batch IAS Officer Appointed As Delhi's Chief Secretary
He replaced incumbent Dharmendra who will superannuate on September 30.
The home ministry said in its notification,“With the approval of the Competent Authority, Sh. Rajeev Verma , IAS (AGMUT:1992) is hereby transferred from Chandigarh to Delhi and posted as Chief Secretary, GNCTD w.e.f. 01.10.2025 or from the date of joining, whichever is later.”

Born in 1966, Rajeev Verma hails from Uttar Pradesh.
Rajeev Verma's education: He earned a Graduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Roorkee. He pursued MTech in Computer Science from IIT, according to Supemo.

He has since worked in key ministries, including Defence, Finance, Urban Development, Health, and Transport.
He later assumed charge as the Deputy Commissioner in Delhi (2000-2002), Additional Secretary at Delhi's Urban Development, and Planning & Prog Implementation. He was then posted in Goa.

Before this, he served as the Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Defence (2013 – 2017), Chairman and MD of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC)
In 2024,, Rajeev Verma was appointed as the Advisor to Chandigarh Administrator Banwarilal Purohit and was given an additional charge of the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB).
“He is a very nice officer and goes by rule as well as practical approach,” a senior official in the Finance department of Delhi was quoted by Indian Express as saying.
