Major Expansion: Gol Doubles Down On Latin America And US Leisure Routes For 2026

(MENAFN- The Rio Times) Gol Linhas Aéreas announced its largest international schedule ever for December 2025 to February 2026 in an official company release. The airline will fly over 5,200 international flights with 980,000 seats, a 20 percent increase from last year.

This move reflects surging travel demand across Latin America. Gol will start direct flights from São Paulo and Buenos Aires to Punta del Este, and a new Montevideo–Fortaleza link.

It will boost seats to Uruguay by 38 percent and to Paraguay by 45 percent, adding Assunção–Rio de Janeiro service. Argentina passengers gain five routes and a 12 percent capacity lift, strengthening ties to Salvador, João Pessoa, and Maceió.

Florida flights rise by 7 percent, meeting the strong leisure market need. Domestically, Gol plans 60,000 flights and 11 million seats, up 13 percent, covering every Brazilian region.

Behind these numbers lies a wider strategy to balance risks and tap growing markets. Brazil's air travel market should expand 3–5 percent annually, while Latin America could hit 8 percent.

By shifting capacity toward the region, Gol spreads costs, builds stability, and deepens regional links. Travelers will enjoy more options, shorter waits, and competitive fares.

The new routes will boost tourism in emerging destinations and strengthen economic ties across South America. This expansion cements Gol's role as a key Latin American carrier and readies it for future growth.
