SBU Exposes Russian Agent Who Passed On Data About Ukrainian Positions In Izium Sector

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to the SBU , the Russians intended to use the intelligence provided by this spotter to prepare offensive operations and attempt to break through the frontline, Ukrinform reports.

The investigation found that the task had been carried out by a 23-year-old unemployed local resident who came to the enemy's attention during the temporary occupation of the community at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

In May 2025, Russian special services re-established contact with her and, in exchange for easy money, tasked her with collecting data on the locations of Ukrainian troops near the frontline.

To this end, the suspect scouted the area and tried to secretly record facilities where she believed Ukrainian units were stationed.

As cover, the agent claimed she was visiting relatives living in the combat zone.

SBU operatives detained the suspect and seized her smartphone, which contained Google Maps screenshots marking potential targets for Russian strikes.

Investigators informed the agent that she is suspected under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

The woman is being held in custody without the right to bail. She faces a possible life sentence with confiscation of property.

Earlier, the SBU detained a 26-year-old hospital nurse who was directing Russian airstrikes on Kherson and its outskirts.
