Nils Mallock is a behavioural scientist at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Research Fellow on the XCEPT project at King's College London, War Studies Department (Centre for Statecraft and National Security - CSNS / International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation). His research examines engagement and disengagement pathways for political violence and peaceful activism in conflict-affected environments, with a specific focus on the Middle East. He specialises in empirical fieldwork and quantitative methods, involving various large-scale psychometric surveys, experiments, in addition to interviews with members of armed groups and activists in the West Bank, Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq. His work has been presented in academic publications, media reports, documentaries, conferences, and policy reports. He regularly briefs the UK Foreign Office on policy related matters.
