King Meets With Heads Of State, Delegations Attending UNGA Meetings

New York, Sep 23 (Petra) His Majesty King Abdullah II, during meetings on Tuesday with leaders and heads of delegation participating in the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York, stressed the need to step up international efforts to restore stability in the Middle East.
During separate meetings with President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof, and Prime Minister of Iceland Kristr?n Frostad?ttir, His Majesty emphasised that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region.
The King asserted the need to halt Israel's military ground operations in Gaza, end the war, and ensure the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid to all areas of the Strip.
His Majesty warned of the danger of escalations in the West Bank and Jerusalem as a consequence of unilateral measures against Palestinians, reiterating Jordan's rejection of Israeli plans to expand settlements in the West Bank.
The meetings, which were attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, also touched on ways to strengthen cooperation between Jordan and these countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh attended the meetings.
