Kawasaki Robotics highlighted new collaborative robots, weld carts, and live demonstrations at FABTECH 2025 in Chicago under the theme“Unleash the Spark”.

Attendees saw hands-on welding demos, the compact VeloWeld Velo-S Cell, and even had the chance to bring their own part (up to 40 inches in diameter) to watch it welded on the show floor.

The company introduced its CL Series Cobot Weld Carts, designed to make robotic welding accessible for shops of all sizes.

Features included collision detection and speed controls for safe collaboration, easy-teach programming that required no robotics experience, and compatibility with major welding supply brands including Miller, Lincoln Electric, ESAB, and SKS.

Packages started at $75,000 and included Strong Hand Rhino Carts, fixturing kits, full weld packages, and Kawasaki's CL Series cobots (CL108N, CL110N, with the CL115N to follow).

Kawasaki also highlighted partnerships with VeloWeld and Wauseon Machine. On display was the VeloWeld Velo-S BA006L welding cell, a plug-and-produce system with Kawasaki's BA006L robot, a dual-axis positioner, and a Fronius 400i MV power source.

Kawasaki said the compact system was aimed at large part manufacturers. A demo with Wauseon Machine showed a Kawasaki CL015N cobot tending a Wauseon 1004EL Electric End Forming Machine for tube handling and forming.

Attendees also got an early look at Kawasaki's CL130L cobot, scheduled for launch in 2026. The collaborative robot will feature a 30 kg payload, 1,800 mm reach, IP66 rating, and advanced safety systems for heavy-payload applications in industries from automotive to aerospace.

Kawasaki additionally showcased the Astorino, a 6-axis, 3D-printed educational robot designed for schools and technical training providers.

The robot is programmable with Kawasaki's AS Language and positioned as an affordable tool to help train the next generation of fabricators and robotics technicians.

Show exclusives at FABTECH included a free commissioning and operator training package with purchase of the Velo-S demo cell, a bonus installation package for the first attendee to place a purchase order, and a chance to win free onsite consultation or robotics training through a demo of Kawasaki's new F0X controller and teach pendant.
