Qatar Airways Signs Codeshare Deal With China Southern Airlines

Dhaka: Qatar Airways and China Southern Airlines have announced an expanded codeshare partnership and increased flight frequencies between Doha and Beijing, ahead of China's Golden Week holiday.

Building on a Memorandum of Understanding signed last year, the enhanced collaboration strengthens connectivity for global travellers from China.

Starting 16 October 2025, Qatar Airways will place its code on China Southern's three weekly flights between Beijing Daxing and Doha.

In return, China Southern will expand its“CZ” code to 15 Qatar Airways-operated destinations across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, including Amman, Athens, Barcelona, Cairo, Dar es Salaam, Madrid, and Munich.

Qatar Airways' CCO, Thierry Antinori, said,“This expansion ensures every Qatar Airways route to China is now accessible to China Southern's passengers. Timed with Golden Week, it offers unmatched connectivity via Doha to over 170 destinations through Hamad International Airport.”

Since April 2024, Qatar Airways has already shared codes on China Southern's Guangzhou–Doha flights. Now, China Southern will further extend its code to Qatar Airways flights between Doha and four Chinese cities-Chengdu Tianfu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, and Shanghai-pending regulatory approval.

Beijing Daxing becomes China Southern's second Chinese gateway to Doha, complementing Qatar Airways' and Xiamen Airlines' daily flights. Together, Qatar Airways, China Southern, and Xiamen Airlines will offer 64 weekly flights across eight Chinese gateways.
