Two men have been arrested in Salt Lake City after authorities discovered an explosive device planted under a Fox News vehicle, officials confirmed.

The suspects were identified as Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Ahmed Nasir, 31. Both were detained on suspicion of involvement in the attempted attack.

Police said the device was found on Friday and verified as a real explosive. It had been activated but failed to detonate.

Because of the nature of the device and its placement, authorities deemed it a serious threat to public safety. The FBI immediately assumed responsibility for the case.

Investigators tracked the suspects to a home in the Magna neighborhood of Salt Lake City, where federal agents carried out the arrests.

The case highlights growing concerns over security threats directed at U.S. media outlets, as incidents of intimidation and targeted violence against journalists continue to rise.

The FBI's swift response underscores the seriousness of the incident and Washington's resolve to protect journalists and safeguard the public from such attacks.
