CRA Participates In 33Rd Meeting Of Arab Spectrum Management Group

Doha: The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) participated in the 33rd Meeting of the Arab Spectrum Management Group, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from September 8 to 11, 2025. The meeting was held as part of the Arab preparations for the International Telecommunication Union's World Radiocommunication Conference 2027 (WRC-27).

The Qatari delegation played an active role in the technical and regional discussions, reflecting CRA's commitment to supporting joint Arab action. The delegation also contributed to the work of the Gulf and Arab spectrum management working groups.

CRA chairs the fifth working group of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), responsible for discussing several items on WRC-27's agenda. During the meeting, CRA presented the GCC's unified positions to the Arab Spectrum Management Group.

The meeting sessions covered key issues for the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector, such as the future of International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT), satellite communications, remote sensing technologies, and support for navigation and safety systems in aviation and maritime transport. These discussions were part of the preparations for WRC-27.

The meeting was an important step for regional coordination, helping to shape common Arab positions that protect national and regional interests.

It also supported the efficient use of spectrum resources to drive development and innovation, while showcasing CRA's leadership at regional and Arab levels.

At the end of its participation, CRA reaffirmed its commitment to continue working with regional partners to unify positions on related international issues. CRA also stressed its role in enhancing

Qatar's position in the ICT sector and reinforcing the country's leadership in shaping the future of this vital industry.
