A Remarkable Conclusion for Round Six of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Fujairah


(MENAFN- Action PR) Fujairah, 14 September 2025: The sixth round of the second edition of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship (GI) concluded this evening at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah, with a large crowd and a fiercely competitive environment.
The round's competitions lasted three days, with the last day comprising matches for children and cubs under the age of twelve.
Bani Yas Jiu-Jitsu Club won Round Six, followed by Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club in second and Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club in third.
The final-day matches and the crowning of winners were attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation; IFBB Vice-President; H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade; H.E. Yousef Abdullah Al Batran, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; Nasser Al Abdul, Regional Director for Dubai at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank; and Abdullah Al Dhahani, Manager of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank branch in Dibba.
Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation stated that the championship is an important platform for developing young talent and displaying rising stars who can represent the UAE in regional and worldwide events. He stressed that the championship's continued success reflects the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation's aim of supporting clubs and academies while also cultivating a culture of sporting excellence.
He added, "This championship, which bears a name dear to our hearts, brings together various segments of society — players, families, and jiu-jitsu enthusiasts — in interactive settings that strengthen communal bonds and uphold the values on which this sport is founded: commitment, discipline, and teamwork. It also helps to establish sport as an essential component of a healthy and balanced lifestyle."
Shireen Ahmed Mahmoud, mother of gold medallist Ahmed Al Kindi of Fujairah Martial Arts Club in the children’s 24 kg category, said her son has participated in this important championship across its rounds, and has been practicing jiu-jitsu for about a year. “Ahmed chose the sport himself and now trains daily. We have participated several times in the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, and we are very happy with what he has achieved, especially since it is his favourite sport,” she added.
