Kuwait Expresses Sympathy To Congo's Boats Victims

KUWAIT, Sept 14 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed on Sunday Kuwait's solidarity and sympathy with the Democratic Republic of the Congo over the tragic sinking of two boats that resulted in the deaths, injuries, and missing of dozens of people.
A statement by the ministry said, Kuwait extends its deepest condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured and the return of the missing.
In the past two days, at least 193 people have been killed in two deadly boat accidents in Congo.
The most recent incident occurred on Thursday and saw a boat with nearly 500 passengers catch fire and capsize on the Congo River, in the Equateur Province's Lukolela territory, authorities said. (end)
