First Tafilah Conference On Heritage, Tourism Development Concludes

Tafilah, Sep. 14 (Petra) – The inaugural Tafilah Conference on Heritage and Tourism Development concluded in Busayra on Sunday, bringing together specialists, scholars, and researchers to discuss strategies for promoting the region's historical and touristic assets.
The conference discussed tourism economics, heritage preservation, archaeological discoveries, and linking tourist routes in southern Jordan. Recommendations included using modern technologies to document cultural heritage, launching a tourism trails project in Busayra modernizing governorate tourist routes with the Ministry of Tourism, and producing multilingual tourism brochures.
Organized by the Busayra Foundation for Cultural Heritage and the Busayra Reconstruction Foundation, in cooperation with the Daehan Wind Power Company (DHWP), the conference saw participation from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Hashemite University, Mutah University, Al al-Bayt University, and local tourism and heritage organizations.
Mohammad Wahib, head of the conference's scientific and organizing committee, said Busayra a was chosen for its historical and touristic significance and numerous archaeological sites. He noted future conferences will highlight Tafilah's tourism and archaeological potential.
