Türkiye, Armenia Hold Sixth Round of Dialogue

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s appointed envoy for the ongoing reconciliation efforts, former Ambassador Serdar Kilic, and Armenian Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan, convened for the sixth session of discussions on Friday.

The dialogue, held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, underscored both parties’ dedication to advancing the normalization initiative “without preconditions.”

According to a statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the two sides also resolved to quicken efforts toward enacting the earlier agreement on cross-border movement.

They reaffirmed the matters previously settled in earlier negotiations, which are geared toward achieving comprehensive normalization between the neighboring nations.

Kilic and Rubinyan also reviewed steps for putting into action the 2022 agreement—reached during a July meeting—regarding cross-border arrangements.

Additionally, they agreed that relevant governmental agencies in each country would proceed with the necessary logistical and technical preparations to restore and reopen the Kars-Gyumri railway and the electricity linkage.

The two officials further concurred on enhancing collaboration in the realms of cultural and academic exchange—particularly through the establishment of scholarship programs for university students and through cooperative restoration of the ancient Silk Road (Ani) Bridge.
