Amman, Sep. 14 (Petra) – Medical teams at the Jordanian field hospital in southern Gaza performed a successful operation on a 60-year-old patient with a comminuted humerus fracture, a complex type of upper arm bone fracture, and severe tissue damage.
The hospital commander said the qualified staff carried out the surgery as part of efforts to provide comprehensive healthcare to the people of Gaza.
The hospital director noted that the operation involved specialized surgeons, supported by operating and anesthesia technicians, as part of ongoing medical services delivered by the hospital.
The patient's injury included a missing portion of bone that prevented natural healing. Dead and infected tissue was removed, the bone was stabilized with plates and screws, and grafts from the pelvis and fibula were used to fill the gap and support healing, an orthopedic surgeon explained.
The patient's family expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah II and the hospital staff for their efforts to alleviate the suffering of Gaza residents.
