Dr Simon Stevenson is currently an ARC DECRA Fellow at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. He is also a member of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Astronomy (OzGrav) and the international LIGO Scientific Collaboration. Dr Stevenson's research focuses on discovering the origin of the gravitational-wave sources being observed by LIGO, Virgo and KAGRA, and using them to probe the evolution of massive stellar binaries.

Dr Stevenson joined Swinburne in 2017. He obtained his PhD at the University of Birmingham, UK in 2017 under Prof Ilya Mandel. Dr Stevenson is originally from the UK.
