Türkiye Integrates Domestic Electro-Optical into Security Forces’ Arsenal
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s security forces have officially integrated the Aggoz Gimbal 275, a domestically produced electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance, and targeting system, developed by Ankara-based defense company Asisguard.
Following successful field tests, the Aggoz Gimbal 275 has been commissioned into active service, marking a significant milestone in Türkiye’s drive to strengthen its defense capabilities with homegrown technology. Asisguard, specializing in electro-optical vision and unmanned drone systems, has poured extensive research and development into creating this cutting-edge system.
Designed to serve as a critical “eye” on the battlefield, the Aggoz Gimbal 275 enhances operational awareness across air, land, and sea platforms. Its high-resolution daytime camera supports prolonged reconnaissance, while a cooled thermal camera ensures uninterrupted night and adverse weather monitoring. The system also includes a laser rangefinder, automatic target tracking, and image stabilization, delivering precision and reliability under all conditions.
Baris Duzgun, Asisguard’s general manager and CEO, emphasized the importance of advanced surveillance in modern warfare. Speaking to media, he stated: “Surveillance and visibility are tremendously important in today’s combat environment, and there’s a need for high-performance electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance, and targeting systems to boost the effectiveness of offensive operations and to detect targets from great distances as early and as accurately as possible.”
Duzgun further highlighted the system’s strategic benefits: “Aggoz will provide security forces with critical advantages in border security, counterterrorism efforts, and reconnaissance and surveillance missions, while addressing the needs of today and also being futureproof — we will continue to enhance the performance of our systems and develop new platforms.”
This deployment underscores Türkiye’s commitment to advancing indigenous defense technologies to meet evolving security challenges at home and abroad.
