Ma'an, Sept. 8 (Petra)-- The Greater Ma'an Municipality has launched an extensive readiness campaign across the governorate to prepare for the upcoming winter. Efforts focus on clearing and reopening flood channels, valleys, and drainage access points, while ensuring stormwater systems are clean and fully operational to handle heavy rains.
According to Assem Al-Nahar, head of the Ma'an Municipal Committee, this proactive initiative aims to boost the municipality's capacity to respond quickly and effectively to any emergencies during the rainy season.
Specialized teams have been assigned to inspect drainage sites regularly, remove any blockages, and ensure smooth water flow. The campaign emphasizes three key priorities: clearing waterways and removing debris, maintaining stormwater infrastructure, and readying equipment and pumps to mitigate the impact of severe weather.
Regular progress reports will help address any challenges promptly, safeguarding public safety and minimizing disruptions as the winter rains approach.
