Dr Amy Wilcockson is a Research Assistant at the University of Glasgow and holds a PhD specialising in Romantic period literature from the University of Nottingham.

Her work on Romantic period poets; literary anniversaries; and Edward Lear has been published in The Times Literary Supplement, History Today Magazine, BBC History Magazine and The Conversation. She has appeared on podcasts, on the radio, and her work has been featured in the national press on numerous occasions.

​In 2020, Amy was a TV PhD candidate working with AHRC and the Edinburgh TV Festival, and was recently shortlisted as an AHRC/BBC New Generation Thinker for 2025.

She has taught a broad range of subjects at the University of Nottingham, Coventry University, and the University of Glasgow, with a particular emphasis on Romantic period and eighteenth-century literature, Jane Austen, Shakespeare, visual media and culture, the Gothic, and American and Canadian Studies.
