Chinese Stocks Extend Gains on Monday


(MENAFN) Chinese stocks ended Monday on a positive note, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rising by 0.38%, closing at 3,826.84 points.

Meanwhile, the Shenzhen Component Index posted a gain of 0.61%, settling at 12,666.84 points.

The total trading volume across both indices reached 2.42 trillion yuan (approximately 340.71 billion U.S. dollars), a slight increase from the previous session’s 2.3 trillion yuan.

Shares in robotics, pork, and satellite internet sectors were among the top performers, while stocks in co-packaged optics and insurance endured significant declines.

On the other hand, the ChiNext Index, which tracks China’s Nasdaq-like growth enterprises, saw a 0.84% drop, closing at 2,933.25 points.
