Turkey pledges to continue powering NATO’s future
(MENAFN) Türkiye will continue contributing to NATO’s future using its indigenous defense capabilities, Defense Industries Secretary Haluk Gorgun stated Thursday.
Writing on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, Gorgun said he met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during the IISS Prague Defense Summit. Their discussions highlighted Türkiye’s strong defense industry, the agile structure of the Defense Industries Secretariat, and its coordination capacity.
“Secretary General Rutte once again praised our defense industry and emphasized the contribution of this robust ecosystem to NATO’s deterrence,” Gorgun noted.
He stressed that with over 3,500 companies and more than 100,000 employees, Türkiye’s defense sector is a powerful ecosystem that enhances international cooperation. “Türkiye will not only fulfill its NATO responsibilities but also contribute to the alliance’s future with the indigenous capabilities it has developed,” he added.
Gorgun also mentioned that Türkiye would present its perspective on Europe’s defense vision at the Prague summit panel, The Future Face of European Defense Industry.
