Amman, Sept. 6 (Petra)-- The National Council for Family Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and UN Women, concluded on Saturday a specialized training program on the updated version of the "Guide for Ministry of Interior Staff on Responding to Gender-Based Violence, Domestic Violence, and Child Protection Cases," in its second edition.
The program included three training courses targeting governors and Ministry of Interior staff, training them on the procedural guide that addresses cases of gender-based violence, domestic violence, and child protection, in line with the latest amendments to the original version issued in 2020.
The guide, the first of its kind as a specialized procedural manual within the Ministry of Interior, aims to clarify and streamline work procedures for the ministry's service provision when handling targeted cases.
It also seeks to save time and effort, facilitate review, auditing, and supervisory processes, unify forms, and improve coordination and referral mechanisms with other institutions. This contributes to a shared understanding that supports effective case management and professional service delivery.
The program, which trained around 75 participants, covered the Guide's key elements, including definitions, objectives, guiding principles, methodology, and scope of work. It also reviewed the Ministry of Interior's role in addressing violence cases, the responsibilities of staff handling such cases, and the main procedures followed when dealing with cases received by governorate offices and district administrations.
The training further included applied case studies to illustrate the pathways for managing cases of violence, whether received directly by governors or referred from other competent official bodies.
