103 Clashes On Frontline, Most Attacks Occur In Pokrovsk Sector

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted an update as of 16:00 on Friday, September 5, on Facebook .

Defenders are taking measures to prevent the enemy from advancing deeper into Ukrainian territory.

Russian artillery struck the Ukrainian border again today. Among those affected were Senkivka, Buchky, Karpovychi, and Mykolaivka in the Chernihiv region, Seredyna Buda, Korenok, Bobylivka, Shalyhyne, Stara Huta, Starykove, Bila Bereza, Tovstodubove, Nova Sloboda, Hirky, Bunyakyne, and Chuikivka in the Sumy region.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors , four combat clashes have taken place since the beginning of the day, two of which are still ongoing. The Russian army has already used 12 guided aerial bombs to strike Ukrainian positions and settlements in these areas of the front, and has also carried out 136 shelling attacks, including four with multiple launch rocket systems.

“At the same time, Ukrainian units carried out active operations and were successful in certain areas,” the General Staff said.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, defenders repelled one Russian attack, and another combat engagement is ongoing. The enemy is trying to advance in the areas of Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops made six unsuccessful attempts to break through the defense line in the areas of Kupiansk, Radkivka, Petropavlivka, and Kolisnykivka. Ukrainian defenders took active measures and were successful in certain areas.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian army attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 12 times near Andriivka, Druzheliubivka, Kolodiazi, Drobysheve, and toward Olhivka, and Shandryholove. Four combat engagements are ongoing.

In the Siversk sector , Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks, and four more combat engagements are ongoing. The invaders attempted to advance near Hryhorivka, Serebrianka, Dronivka, and toward Dibrova.

In the Toretsk sector, the Russians carried out five assaults in the areas of Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka. One battle is still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the invaders made 26 attempts to advance in the areas of Shakhove, Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Shevchenko, Promin, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Dachne, toward Filiia and Novopavlivka. The defenders are holding back the offensive: 19 enemy attacks have already been repelled. Seven clashes are still ongoing.

In the Novopavlivka sector , the Russian army attempted to break through the defense lines in the areas of Oleksandrohrad, Voskresenka, Temyrivka, Shevchenko, Maliivka, and Komyshuvakha. Fifteen assaults have been repelled so far. Six more attacks are ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled a Russian attack in the direction of Stepnohirsk.

In the Prydniprovske sector , enemy aircraft struck the area of Olhivka.

In the Kramatorsk and Huliaipole sectors, the Russians have not yet carried out any offensive actions today.

No significant changes have been recorded in the rest of the front sectors.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian defenders liberated one of the settlements in the Dobropillia sector from Russian troops.
