Algeria, Namibia Discuss Bilateral Cooperation In Energy, Hydrocarbons
Algiers: Algerian Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy Mohamed Arkab discussed Friday with the visiting Namibian Vice President Lucia Witbooi, ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the energy and hydrocarbons sectors.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed means to expand cooperation to include the production, transmission, and distribution of electricity, as well as the development, management, and maintenance of electrical networks and photovoltaic solar energy projects.
They emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise and knowledge in the areas of regulation, management, legislation, training, and the preparation of studies related to the oil and gas industry.
In this context, Arkab highlighted the new dynamics characterizing relations between the two countries, affirming his country's commitment to an energy policy based on partnerships.
Witbooi expressed her country's desire to benefit from the Algerian experience and strengthen partnerships with Algerian companies, particularly Sonatrach, to develop the entire hydrocarbons value chain.
