Laghman Wedding Dispute Leaves 1 Dead, 3 Detained

KABUL (Pajhwok): A dispute during a wedding ceremony in the capital of eastern Laghman province left one person dead, while three others were arrested in connection with the incident.

In a statement, the Laghman Police said the clash occurred Thursday night in the“Baba Sahib Camp” area of Mehtarlam City.

The statement noted that the incident started as a verbal altercation during the wedding and ended in the killing of a young man named Abbas.

Police added that security forces arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and detained three individuals along with three Kalashnikov rifles.

The detainees, according to the sources, will be referred to judicial and legal authorities.
