BYO Bandana Charm Workshop: Circular Library And Brooklyn Charm Bring Upcycled Fashion To Venice
Venice, CA – September 6, 2025 – Circular Library, in partnership with Brooklyn Charm, invites the Venice community to the BYO Bandana Charm Workshop, a creative and sustainable event taking place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This unique experience celebrates upcycling, personal storytelling, and community connection through jewelry-making.
The concept is simple but impactful: participants bring their own bandana-old, worn, or simply loved-and reimagine it into a stylish accessory with the help of vintage and secondhand charms. Guided step-by-step by the Brooklyn Charm team, attendees will learn how to cut, transform, and combine their bandana with charms, chains, and pendants to create a custom necklace or bracelet that is truly one-of-a-kind.
“No two pieces will be the same, because each bandana and each charm carries its own history,” explains Tracie, founder of Brooklyn Charm.“It's about reimagining what we already have, giving new life to old textiles and vintage finds, and leaving with something wearable that tells your personal story.”
The $50 workshop includes access to Brooklyn Charm's curated collection of vintage and secondhand charms, along with all the tools and supplies needed to design and complete a custom jewelry piece. Participants are encouraged to bring their creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to play with unexpected materials. No prior jewelry-making experience is required.
What's Included in the Workshop ($50):
Guidance and step-by-step instruction from Brooklyn Charm experts
Use of all necessary tools and supplies
Access to a curated selection of vintage and secondhand charms
A finished, wearable piece of jewelry made from your own bandana
This collaboration highlights the shared mission of Circular Library and Brooklyn Charm: championing sustainability, individuality, and creative reuse. Circular Library has long been a platform for circular fashion and community-focused creative events, while Brooklyn Charm has been transforming trinkets into wearable art since 2010. Together, they are offering a hands-on experience that embodies both artistry and sustainability.
About Brooklyn Charm
Founded by Tracie, Brooklyn Charm began in 2010 with the vision of reimagining vintage charms, pendants, and chains into personal works of art. From humble beginnings in Brooklyn and Manhattan to West Coast shops in Ventura and Venice Beach, Brooklyn Charm has grown into a community hub for treasure hunters and jewelry lovers alike. Each piece is rooted in sustainability, with charms sourced from decades of thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets, and rescued bead shop inventories.
