Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Japan on Friday, and received a warm welcome from Japan PM Shigeru Ishiba.
Upon landing in Japan, PM Modi had posted in Japanese, that he "expects this visit to provide an opportunity to exchange views with Prime Minister Ishiba and others, deepen the existing partnership, and explore possibilities for new cooperation.”
PM Modi in JapanAt the India-Japan Economic Forum, along with Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba, PM Narendra Modi said Japan has always been an important partner in India's development journey.
"From metro rail to manufacturing, semiconductors to startups...Japanese companies have invested over $40 billion in India," PM Narendra Modi said, describing Japan as a tech powerhouse and India as a talent powerhouse.
PM Modi's Japan visit on Friday, August 29, marks his first standalone visit to the nation in nearly seven years. The two-day trip aims to deepen bilateral ties and advance the 'Special Strategic and Global Partnership' with Japan.
During the India-Japan economic forum, PM Modi also emphasised on collaboration between the nations for green energy transition to achieve the target of 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030, reported ANI.
What did PM Modi say – Key Points- Prime Minister Narendra Modi pitched for a partnership in several sectors to boost economic growth, including manufacturing, technology, innovation, green energy, and skill development. “The world is not just watching India but also counting on it,” said Modi. Stressing on 'Make-in-India,' PM Modi said,“Come, make-in-India, and make for the world....” as he highlighted the importance of technology and innovation.
