I am affiliated with the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Centre for Water Resources Research, based in Pietermaritzburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.

I work as a Research Scientist at environmental consulting firm GroundTruth in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), South Africa. In this role I lead projects and conduct all aspects of scientific research (including study design, data collection, management, and analysis, writing, editing, and project management) on various topics related primarily to citizen science, biodiversity, ecology, restoration, and transboundary water resource monitoring and management. I have a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Cape Town FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology and over eight years of ecological research and field work experience through my postgraduate studies. I have a passion for ecology, wildlife, research, and conservation.
