(NNIC) took over, said General Manager Eric Ines.
The fee will go up to Php950 from Php550 for departing international flights, - an increase of over 70 per cent. Meanwhile, the domestic flight terminal fee will rise to Php390 from Php200 per passenger.

Passengers currently have to pay a Php550 terminal fee for international trips and Php200 for domestic journeys. Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) - or those who work abroad including the UAE - are exempted from these charges.
"It was set by government under MIAA Administrative Order No. 1, Series of 2024, and approved by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), and the Cabinet. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) as adviser of the Government also reviewed the rates," NNIC said in a statement.
The private operator also noted that this is the first terminal fee increase in 20 years.
Government touts privatisation as a way to extend services without spending public funds, but this comes with concerns of higher fees and decreased service as companies try to profit on their investments.
Last year, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) mentioned that it was looking to increase terminal fees for Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) to Php950, Transport secretary Jaime Bautista said in a GMA News report.
Bautista said the fee hikes were necessary as part of efforts to modernise the airport. The last time rates were increased was 24 years ago, he said.
The proposal came soon after the DOTr sealed a Php170.6-billion concession deal with a private company, Naia Infra Corp. The increase would help the corporation earn from their investments in the airport, Bautista said.
Naia Infra Corp committed at least P122.3 billion in capital investments for 25 years, according to GMA News.
