CARC launches first drone conductor license

(MENAFN) The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) is set to issue Jordan’s first drone operator license this week. CARC Chairman Haitham Misto told Al Mamlaka that the 2025 drone regulations, established under the 2007 Civil Aviation Law, formalize the use of drones across multiple sectors.

Licenses will be granted only after applicants and their staff receive security clearances, which also cover drone storage, operation, and manufacturing sites. Approved uses include photography, advertising, tourism promotion, event coverage, film production, surveying, infrastructure inspection, security monitoring, crop management, and small package delivery.

Misto noted that three companies, which applied in April, have completed the licensing process and plan to deploy drones for purposes ranging from aerial photography and tourism promotion to surveying and cleaning high-rise buildings. This initiative forms part of broader efforts by the National Council for Future Technology to expand drone applications in Jordan.
