OIC Condemns Israeli Occupation Remarks, Visit To Illegal Settlement In W. Bank

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, Aug 18 (KUNA)-- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemns, Monday, the provocative visit made by the Israeli occupation's Prime Minister to the illegal settlement "Ofra" in occupied West Bank.
The visit was accompanied by racist statements regarding ""the importance of preserving settlements and holding on to the Land of Israel", also declaring that he "will do everything to ensure continued attachment to the Land of Israel and to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state."
In a statement, the OIC affirmed that this constitutes a further escalation of Israeli occupation's blatant violations of international law and UN resolutions, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2334 and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.
The OIC calls on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to shoulder its responsibilities in ending the Israeli occupation and colonial settlement activity, and to ensure international protection for the Palestinian people. (end)
