Lower House Speaker Receives 2024 Human Rights Report

Amman, Aug. 17 (Petra) – Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Ahmed Safadi on Sunday received the 21st annual report on the state of human rights in the Kingdom for 2024 from Chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Center for Human Rights Samar Haj Hassan and Commissioner-General for Human Rights Jamal Shamayleh.
Safadi praised the center's role in evaluating the national human rights landscape, underlining that the Lower House will give full consideration to the center's reports. He added that the Public Liberties and Human Rights Committee will study the recommendations and follow up on the observations included in the reports, in line with royal directives.
He stressed that the Lower House prioritizes human rights and public freedoms in a way that reflects the Kingdom's ongoing efforts in this field and contributes to reinforcing both the human rights framework and the rule of law.
For her part, Haj Hassan highlighted the center's pride in its partnership with the Lower House, particularly in the implementation of the annual report's recommendations and their integration into the chamber's legislative and oversight outcomes.
