This was the resounding message delivered by Cresco Real Estate CEO Umer Shauket at the Environmental Excellence Awards 2025.

The event, organized by the Federation of Economic Development Association (FEDA), celebrated visionary leaders and innovators shaping a greener tomorrow. Shauket, a strong advocate for sustainability in the real estate sector, was honored with the Award of Excellence for his unwavering commitment to“Sustainability is in Your Hand – Shaping Tomorrow's Skyline, Responsibly.”

In his keynote address, Shauket emphasized that real estate must transcend bricks and mortar:“Real estate is not just about concrete and glass - it's about communities, our planet, and the legacy we leave behind. Sustainability is no longer an option; it is the price of admission to the future,” he said.

He highlighted ESG principles - Environmental, Social, and Governance - as the blueprint for the sector's evolution:

. Environmental: green buildings, renewable energy, and designs in harmony with nature.

. Social: inclusive spaces fostering belonging for all residents.

. Governance: transparency, accountability, and ethical business practices.

“Profit is temporary. Purpose is permanent. The skyline we build today must stand proudly - not only in steel and stone, but in the hearts of generations to come,” Shauket said.

The event was spearheaded by Mr. Saleem, Founder of FEDA, alongside Dr. Samiullah Khan, FEDA Partner, bringing together thought leaders, policymakers, and over 2000 developers from across the UAE.
