Senate President Receives NCHR's 2024 Report On Human Rights In Jordan

Amman, August 12 (Petra) – Senate President Faisal Fayez on Tuesday received a copy of the National Centre for Human Rights' (NCHR) annual report on the status of human rights in Jordan for the year 2024.
Fayez received the report during a meeting with NCHR Chairperson Samar Al Haj Hassan NCHR Commissioner-General Jamal Shamaileh.
Fazyez said the Senate is "keen to provide the necessary support to the center to enable it to fulfill its role."
Fayez indicated that the report will be presented to the Senate's specialized committees to assess its key indicators and results and examine its recommendations for discussion with the government, the NCHR and various relevant authorities.
Additionally, he praised the NCHR's "significant" role in preserving citizens' rights and freedoms within the framework of applicable laws and legislation, and in responding to all inquiries with "accurate" documents and information.
Haj Hassan, in turn, presented the eminent achievements in the framework of advancing the Kingdom's human rights situation and the key issues addressed in the 2024 Human Rights Report.
Noting issues contained in the report, she said its axes focused on developments in the Kingdom in the human rights field during the past year.
The center carries out its work "professionally," in accordance with clear methodologies, and objective and scientific foundations that take into account the highest international standards and indicators, she pointed out.
According to a Senate statement, the meeting went over the the report's paramount recommendations, aimed to strengthen the Kingdom's human rights system and public freedoms and activate role of national institutions in protecting and promoting rights in accordance with constitutional and international standards.
