Karak, August 10 (Petra) – Prime Minister Jafar Hassan visited on Sunday Karak to see six key development and service sites as part of the government's efforts to improve public services and infrastructure across the Kingdom.
At the Prince Faisal Sports City, Hassan, accompanied by Minister of Youth Raed Adwan, reviewed progress on the three-phase project and urged completing the project on schedule and to the highest standards, including green spaces, sports fields and family-friendly facilities.
This is Hassan's second visit to the site; during his first visit in November 2024, he had directed that all phases be completed concurrently to maximise community benefit.
The Prime Minister visited an unfinished government building, purchased by the Ministry of Finance in 2016, and instructed it be allocated to Mutah University for use as a clinical facility for its College of Dentistry.
Accompanied by Minister of Higher Education Azmi Mahafzah and University President Salama Naimat, Hassan was briefed on the five-story building, which will house dental clinics, labs and radiology units and serve students and the local community.
The Prime Minister visited the newly launched Moab Centre for Integrated Social Services, the first of its kind in the district.
Accompanied by Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa, he directed the establishment of a park and children's play area, the provision of necessary supplies and transport services to expand access and improve service delivery.
He called for the development of specialised programmes tailored to beneficiaries' needs.
At the Moab Vocational Training Institute, the Prime Minister reviewed training programmes serving 307 trainees in fields such as hairdressing, auto mechanics and food processing.
Joined by Minister of Labour Khaled Bakkar, he directed the extension of these training programmes and encouraged linking local food and craft products to the government-supported "Khairat Al-Dar" e-commerce platform.
He instructed that the institute be provided with new computers and air conditioning units.
Hassan expressed support for expanding the institute's hydroponic farming project in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture to promote youth involvement in modern agricultural practices.
During his stop at the Muhi Al-Awwali Health Centre in Southern Mazar District, the Prime Minister accompanied by Minister of Health Ibrahim Bdour toured the facility and engaged with staff and patients.
He instructed that the centre be staffed with additional medical personnel and receive the necessary maintenance and equipment to enhance services.
The final stop was the Qatrana Castle archaeological site, where Hassan reviewed progress on ongoing development efforts.
The project, scheduled for completion next month, includes the construction of a visitor center, rest areas, historical site lighting and the rehabilitation of the adjacent historic pool.
Hassan issued a directive during a visit in February for the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to develop the site in line with its cultural and touristic significance.
