Sanctions Against Russia And Its Enablers Can Work If Strong Enough Zelensky

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the president wrote on Facebook that overnight, Russian forces launched ballistic missiles and nearly 50 UAVs against Ukraine, most of them being Russian-Iranian Shahed-type drones.

"Many drones were shot down by our defenders, but unfortunately, there were hits," Zelensky said.

State Emergency Service units have been working through the night in Lozova, Kharkiv region, where more than 25 Shahed drones hit civilian infrastructure. Railway facilities, including a depot and the station, were damaged. One person was killed, and ten others injured, including two children.

Zelensky also noted that the Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Sumy regions came under fire during the night. In the village of Bilenke, Zaporizhzhia district, Russian forces used FPV drones to target civilians, injuring two people.

Once again, the Russian army is hunting civilians in an attempt to terrorize frontline cities and communities, he said.

"The world now sees that sanctions against Russia, and secondary sanctions against all those who help it profiteer from oil, can work if they are strong enough. Therefore, pressure must be increased, and this will undoubtedly contribute to peace. I thank the United States, our European partners, the G7 countries, and all those willing to exert the necessary pressure. We look forward to meaningful and decisive steps," Zelensky said.
