Winners Announced For Best 'Khenaizi' Dates Basket At 10Th Local Dates Festival

Doha: The organizing committee of the 10th Local Dates Festival, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Municipality in collaboration with the Souq Waqif management, has announced the results of the competition for the Best Khenaizi Dates Basket.

The first place was awarded to the farm of Yousef Ahmed Al-Taher, while the second place went to the farm of Sheikh Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani. The third place was claimed by the farm of the heirs of Abdulhamid Mulla Hassan Al Ansari.

This competition is part of the broader effort to support local farmers, promote the cultivation of high-quality date varieties in Qatar, and encourage excellence in agricultural production. The Khenaizi date is one of the most popular and prized varieties in the country, known for its rich flavour and soft texture.

The festival continues to attract a large number of visitors and will run until August 7, offering a variety of events, exhibitions, and direct marketing opportunities for local farms. It is open to the public from 4pm to 9pm from Sunday to Thursday, and from 4pm to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Local Dates Festival remains a key platform to showcase Qatari agricultural products, celebrate the country's heritage, and strengthen the connection between producers and consumers.
