China, Russia forces conduct joint army drills in Vladivostok

(MENAFN) China’s Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday that Chinese and Russian naval forces will hold joint military exercises in August near Vladivostok. The drills, named Sea-2025, will take place in nearby waters and airspace, according to ministry spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang.

Zhang stated that following the main exercise, selected units from both countries will continue on to parts of the Pacific Ocean for the sixth joint maritime patrol. He emphasized that the exercises are part of the two nations’ annual military cooperation plan and are not aimed at any specific country or linked to ongoing global or regional tensions.

A similar joint operation was conducted in July 2024 in the waters and skies near Zhanjiang, in southern China’s Guangdong Province.
