Maruti Suzuki To Mentor DPIIT Start-Ups In Automotive Sector


(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Jul 28 (KNN) Maruti Suzuki India Limited has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to foster innovation in the automotive manufacturing and mobility sectors.

The partnership will enable start-ups recognised under the government's Startup India initiative to participate in the automaker's innovation programs.

The collaboration will provide selected start-ups with access to expert mentorship, industry insights, and Maruti Suzuki's extensive network and infrastructure.

Participating companies will also gain opportunities to connect with incubators, accelerators, and potential investors to present their technological solutions, according to a joint statement released Wednesday.

The MoU was formalised in the presence of key officials including Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, and senior executives fr0m Maruti Suzuki including independent director Anjali Bansal.

This agreement expands upon Maruti Suzuki's existing start-up engagement initiatives, which include the Mobility Challenge, Incubation, Nurture, and Accelerator programmes.

The company has evaluated over 5,220 start-ups to date, engaged with approximately 150 companies, and established business partnerships with 28 of them.

Bharti emphasised India's dynamic start-up environment, stating that the partnership with DPIIT will accelerate efforts to support promising start-ups in developing technology-driven solutions for automobile manufacturing and mobility applications.

Sanjiv described the MoU as a foundation for creating a comprehensive platform that will help start-ups transform concepts into commercially viable mobility and manufacturing solutions, strengthening India's position in next-generation industrial innovation.

Alam Ansari, Deputy Director, Startup India, highlighted the department's commitment to fostering meaningful start-up engagement in the mobility and manufacturing sectors.

He expressed optimism about providing start-ups with the necessary support to achieve scalable success both domestically and internationally.
