CAIRO, July 24 (KUNA) -- A number of Egyptian officials affirmed Thursday that Kuwait is fully deserving of its selection as the Arab Capital of Media and Culture for 2025, citing the Gulf country's long-standing and influential contributions to media and cultural fields.
Choosing Kuwait as the Arab capital of media and culture this year just reflected its strong presence and contributions within this field, affirmed Dr. Tarek Saada, Head of the Egyptian Media Syndicate, during an interview KUNA.
Whether in theater, journalism, radio, television, or any other media field, Kuwait is there and has a strong presence, he asserted.
He noted that the Kuwait leadership's unlimited support played a crucial role in highlighting the Gulf State's media and cultural contributions, adding that his country and Kuwait also had a strong cooperation in such fields.
The two countries, said Dr. Saada, had a unified media message concerning issues of Arab concerns, noting that bolstering Arab national security and supporting the Palestinian cause were just a few causes that Kuwait and Cairo were keen on boosting cooperation within.
For her part, Egyptian Culture Ministry spokesperson Radhwa Hashem said that choosing Kuwait as the capital of Arab media and culture for 2025 was in recognition of its decades of contributions.
Kuwait remains a platform for dialogue and illumination, she asserted, indicating that this year's designation had already inspired several initiatives and events, including the launch of a joint digital media platform aimed at promoting Arab culture, media content, and creative production.
Hashem touched on Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations, commending its long-standing and tight coordination, especially with the media and cultural fields.
The choice of Kuwait as the capital of Arab media and culture is a great opportunity to expand pan-Arab cooperation to boost creativity and cultivate talents, she concluded. (end)
