Tomorrowland festival to continue despite fire destroying stage

(MENAFN) Organizers of Belgium’s world-famous Tomorrowland festival have confirmed the event will go ahead as planned, despite a major fire that destroyed its main stage on Wednesday evening. No injuries were reported, and authorities have declared the site safe.

The blaze broke out just two days before the festival’s opening on Friday, prompting emergency meetings and overnight efforts to find solutions. Over 400,000 people are expected to attend the electronic music event over two weekends in the town of Boom, near Antwerp.

Artists like David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Lost Frequencies, and Charlotte De Witte are still scheduled to perform. Festival organizers, in an emotional Instagram post, said: “It is impossible to put into words what we’re feeling,” describing the destroyed "Orbyz" main stage as a “living, breathing world.”

While the cause of the fire is under investigation, the DreamVille campsite has already opened, and contingency plans are being finalized in coordination with safety experts and local officials.
