Türkiye's BIST 100 Index Ends Friday with Modest Gain

(MENAFN) Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed at 10,358.46 points on Friday, showing a modest gain of 0.26%.

The index opened the trading session at 10,415.69 points, adding 27.15 points to Thursday’s closing value. Throughout the day, the market fluctuated between a low of 10,269.95 and a high of 10,441.05 points.

As of the close, the market capitalization of the BIST 100 stood at approximately 9.53 trillion Turkish liras (around $238.5 billion), with a trading volume of 114 billion Turkish liras ($2.83 billion).

Of the 98 stocks listed on the index, half saw increases, while the other half experienced declines.

In commodities, gold traded at $3,358.80 per ounce, and Brent crude oil was priced at $69.80 per barrel by 7 PM local time (1600 GMT).

Meanwhile, the Turkish lira experienced fluctuations, with the US dollar priced at 40.1760, the euro at 47.0840, and the British pound at 54.3470 liras.
