Nine Punjab-Bound Passengers Abducted And Killed In Balochistan

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) Nine passengers traveling from Quetta to Lahore were brutally killed after being abducted from a bus, in a series of coordinated terrorist attacks across Balochistan, reportedly carried out by operatives linked to what officials termed“Fitna-e-Hindustan”.

According to Assistant Commissioner Zhob, Naveed Alam, the terrorists intercepted a passenger bus en route to Punjab and abducted several individuals near Loralai. The abducted passengers were later executed by firing. The bodies of the victims are being transferred to Rakni Hospital.

Earlier in the day, multiple terrorist attacks were reported in Qalat, Mastung, and Loralai districts. While specific casualty figures from those attacks have not been officially confirmed, reports indicate attempts to abduct more passengers in the Loralai area.

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, in a statement to a news channel, confirmed three terrorist attacks occurred on Thursday, all of which were repelled. However, he condemned the tragic killing of innocent travelers, calling it a continuation of past cross-border aggression and labeling the massacre an act of "barbarism by Fitna-e-Hindustan".

Rind further revealed that a general terror threat alert had been issued in the region. Travel for passenger buses on National Highway N-70 had already been restricted due to security concerns. However, the ill-fated bus reportedly departed during the evening, defying the advisory, and was subsequently targeted.

The slain passengers are believed to hail from various cities in Punjab. Authorities have begun the identification process.

Security in the area has been heightened, and an investigation into the attacks and abductions is underway.
