Argentine Leader orders closure of national highway safety, management agencies

(MENAFN) Argentine President Javier Milei has officially ordered the dissolution of several national agencies responsible for managing highway safety and infrastructure.

Executive orders published on Tuesday in the government’s official gazette and signed by the president mandate the closure of the National Transit and Road Safety Commission, the National Road Safety Agency, and the National Highway Directorate (DNV).

The DNV, created in 1932, had been tasked with advancing road infrastructure and improving connectivity across the country’s towns and cities.

According to the presidential office, the decision was based on the assessment that these agencies’ operations and complex organizational structures “do not meet current management needs, resulting in slow project execution and high operating costs for the national government.”
